This wood is highly resistant and heavy.
It is very resistant from a mechanical point of view and is hardwearing even in the presence of humidity. These features make it suitable for exteriors, harbour work, and naval construction, structures exposed to bad weather and subject to high stress and pressure.
It is usually used for cradles, slipways, fenders, wharfs..
